Terms of Use
These terms cover the free meditation timer and the written pages around it. They are short, and they mostly say the obvious things plainly: the timer is free, it is not medical advice, and you use it as it is.

Agreement to These Terms
These terms of use are an agreement between you and the individual who operates ZenTimer. In this page that person is referred to as we or us. By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
They apply to every page of the site, including the timer pages and any shared session page you open.
What ZenTimer Is
ZenTimer is a free meditation timer online that times a sitting and plays synthesized bells at the start, at optional intervals and at the end. It runs in your browser, needs no account and costs nothing.
There is no paid tier, no subscription and no in-app purchase, so there is nothing to buy, cancel, refund or renew.
It Is Not Medical or Professional Advice
The timer, the written pages and everything else on this site are offered for general information and personal practice only. They are not medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and they are not a treatment for any condition.
Do not use the site as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional, and do not delay seeking help because of something you read here. The medical disclaimer explains this in more detail and says when to stop and ask for help.
Your Use of the Site
You may use ZenTimer for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- use the site in a way that breaks a law that applies to you;
- try to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it;
- scrape the site automatically in a way that puts unreasonable load on it, or republish its content as your own;
- remove or hide notices of copyright or attribution;
- use the bells while driving, cycling or doing anything else that needs your full attention.
Intellectual Property
The ZenTimer name, the design of the site, the written pages and the code behind the timer belong to the operator or are used with permission. You are welcome to link to any page of the site.
Photographs and other third-party assets remain the property of their owners. The bell sounds are generated by your browser rather than played from recordings, so there is no audio file to license. A session link you create contains only the settings of your own session, and you are free to share it.
Third-Party Services and Advertising
The site may show advertising supplied by Google and may link to other websites. Those services have their own terms and their own privacy practices, and we do not control them. How we handle data, including advertising cookies, is described in the privacy policy.
Availability and Changes
ZenTimer is offered as it is and as it is available. Pages may change, features may be added or removed, and the site may be unavailable from time to time. We do not promise that any particular length, bell or background will always be offered.
No Warranty
The site is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the bells will sound on every device. On some phones a locked screen can pause the timer, and a browser may refuse to keep the screen awake; that is a limit of the device, not a fault we can fix.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of ZenTimer is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, including a missed session, lost settings or a device problem. Because the site is free, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Governing Law and Your Consumer Rights
These terms are governed by the laws that apply where the operator lives, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If you are a consumer, that choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country in which you live, and you may also be able to bring a claim in your own courts. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit a right that the law gives you and does not allow to be waived.
Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page when you use the site is the version that applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
How to Contact Us
Write to [email protected] with any question about these terms, or see the contact page. If something on the site has annoyed you, tell us first — most problems are quicker to fix than to argue about.
